 Witch.

Why do I call myself that?

 Perhaps that word means something entirely different to you than it does to me.

For some, the word witch brings to mind darkness, evil, or something to be feared. For others, it brings images of herbs, moonlight, old traditions, and a connection to the natural world.

For me, it's something much more personal.

Being a witch doesn't mean I've stopped believing in God. It doesn't mean I've chosen darkness over light.

In fact, I believe quite the opposite.

For me, spirituality is deeply connected to nature. I believe there is something sacred in the earth, the moon, the seasons, plants, animals, and the cycles that have existed long before any of us were here. I believe astrology and the movements of the universe can help us understand ourselves and our connection to something much bigger than us.

When I call myself a witch, I’m talking about that connection. It’s about intuition, intention, honoring nature, working with herbs and plants, paying attention to the moon and its cycles, and finding meaning and spirituality in the natural world around me.

Human beings have spent thousands of years trying to understand the universe and the meaning of our existence. Across cultures and centuries, we've given the divine different names, created different traditions, and found different ways to honor what we cannot fully explain.

Perhaps we don't have to understand every mystery to honor its existence.

It's not about having supernatural powers or believing I can control the universe.

It's about recognizing that I am part of it.

Room for curiosity. Room for different paths. Room for the possibility that the divine is far greater than anything we have ever imagined.

 I began finding the sacred in places I had always loved— in the garden, beneath the stars, and under the light of the moon.

So yes, I call myself a witch.

Not because I've stopped believing in something greater than myself.

But because I've started looking for it everywhere.
